Fusions of Thoughts and Expression

My paintings are born from creative instinct and sub consciousness in the timeless tradition of Abstract Expressionism. The works are large, colorful and visually provocative. Available as open edition prints and as original works of art, I invite you to explore each painting by clicking on it to receive a more detailed view.

The ready to hang paintings and prints are vibrant, engaging visual landscapes that communicate a range of feelings. Personally, the artworks serve as maps of human emotion that communicate on different levels simultaneously.

PROCESS
The constructions of my paintings incorporate a 1.75" thick, wooden box frame that is made to hold a wood painting surface. Paintings consist of oil and acrylic paint, recycled advertising material and various varnishes.

Close-up, the paintings are a synthesized blend of coarse dot patterns and intensely applied paint and varnish. Alignment of shapes, rips, cut marks and brush strokes-both gesture and mechanical help to create a finished painting.

The larger scale of the works I produce require a physical intensity in keeping the painting process fresh and alive. For myself, painting is akin to listening to a piece of music or watching a film in that each piece has is a beginning, middle and an end.

As an emerging fine artist, I am committed to producing art works that push the boundaries of aesthetic expressionism in its purest of forms.
